Physiology and Disease: Advances and Perspectives
Welcome to the Young Physiologists’ Symposium!
This symposium is organised by a group of post-graduate students from the Faculty of Life Sciences at The University of Manchester in conjunction with The Physiological Society. The symposium will be held at the University of Manchester from 28-29th June 2010, as a lead into The Physiological Society’s Main Meeting.
Physiology and Disease: Advances and Perspectives will be organised into four themed sessions, with each session including a keynote lecture from a prominent researcher in the field, and oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts. The four themes are:
- Cardiovascular disease (Plenary by Saadeh Suleiman, University of Bristol)
- Metabolic disease (Plenary by Patrick Rorsman, University of Oxford)
- Epithelial disease (Plenary by Mustafa Djamgoz, Imperial College London)
- Neurological disease (Plenary by Hugh Perry, University of Southampton)
We invite post-grad and early career post-doc researchers to present their work at YPS 2010 in Manchester. The symposium will be held in the state-of-the-art University Place building, with an extended lunch and poster session held in the historic Whitworth Hall.
